hey folks,

just finished up skinning the radio main screen. take a look:

NOTE: once i am done with a complete firmware update (themes and skins for all areas), i will upload my firmware here. otherwise, i can make this available upon request (but the rest of the screens on the player are a mess right now due to me messing around with different parts).

will this work on the 1.5 nano clone? I just know mine has a main image for the radio with the flower (which I have made my own) but my battery is in the bottom right corner...either way looks good! Once you post it, I could edit it to my liking anyways :)

Looks very nice indeed.

My player has the annoying bitrate of the song showing on the screen as well while playing which I can't get rid of :(.

hi there,

yes this should work for the nano 1.5" clone (it works on mine).

this is NOT the screen for the main menu (where you select the radio application), this is for the radio itself.

i can navigate around, save stations, change the volume and all that.

i have fw version 3.5.37, too. If i modify the design (I did, to white background) there are ALWAYS some pink bard left, near the mhz numbers, I can't fix that. I think it's the backgroundcolour and it's saved in radio.ap, what do you mean?

i have the background color issue where the saved channel number shows up (light blue). i don't have the problem with the Mhz area. maybe your CLR_FMD.bmp is not the right size? mine is 55x17.

ok folks,

radio skin is done!

there is only one tiny problem with it: i am unable to get the light green background color behind the saved channel indicator to go away (must be something in the firmware we can't change).

so, being uploaded tonight:
- all of the necessary BMPs
- the PSD file

as soon as it is approved, you can try it out and let me know how it works for you.

Great Release Man.. Hope You Work Around The Issues With Music Player Skin... This One Kicks Ass... Only Thing Is You Put A ":" instead of a "." for separation between 100.2 Mhz but its fixable easily with the psds u provided.. great stuff cant wait for ur player theme...

hm doesn't work with my firmware :(... the pics are on different positions, have different sizes or doesn't even exist :cry:... but maybe it helps me to build an own theme :).

hi there,

sorry to hear that.

yes, it seems that even players with the same firmware release number, have entirely different interfaces, layouts and naming for the BMPs.

in your case, if you have a 1.5" screem with a 128x128 px resolution, export your radio BMPs from your firmware dump, then use the "thumbnail view" in windows explorer to see the names. if you have the taskbar showing on the left, you will see a little box that says details, this will tell you how big a particular image is. then take my PSD files and cut the elements out in the sizes you need.

sounds like a lot of work (and it is), but this is how i built my theme. i just replaced all of the radio elements.

hi all,

first attempt at aligning the look of my original radio screen with the new playback screen:

am thinking about having the secondary information (i.e. stereo and channels) only show up when they are "true" otherwise will leave them blank so as to not clutter up the screen. this is what i was doing with the main player screen, too (e.g. "lyrics" only shows up if there is a lyrics file for the song).

thoughts on this screen?

o no I know how to do that part. I just don't understand where all the pictures that comes with that radio theme you made goes on my firmware. The names of the pictures are no like mine. Did you make another one that fits other players?

hi there,

i tried to keep the same names for the files i have on my player (see my player specs in my signature below). i have not made any other version, since i don't know how the files are named on other players.

your best bet would be to export your FW images and then use thumbnail view to view them. then start your player in radio mode and try to identify all of the BMPs from your player which are responsible for the radio screen. then, once you have figured out which of my picture match your player BMPs, you can use s1res to replace the images.

ok I figured it out. Its not compatible with firmware 3.5.35. Because the images are to big. Can someone remake this radio theme for the ACT_V3.5.35 firmware?

well...

remaking it for a player i don't even own will be close to impossible (since i won't know the image sizes).

you can have the PSD and then cut the graphics yourself.

Well I can't even figure out how to do anything with photo shop.

Doon, I love your Mypod theme, it's to bad the radio skin doesnt work right, and the i pod lookalike, probably because I have ACT_V3.5.35 firmware. Although the boot screen works great.
