Default QUESTION | is there any other prog like S1RES?

hi all,

i think we are all using the s1res prog to make our changes to the images in the dump.bin files.

is there anything else we can use?

does anyone know if there will be another update to this program?

what are the STAFF1, STAFF2 and so on non-accessible parts showing up in the tool?

anyone know of anything else?

thanks,
doon

The EasyFW is now available for download from our site here: http://www.mympxplayer.com/dload.php...le&file_id=252.

Hummm, first glance, can't seem to do much with it except to load files onto it. Damn I wish I could read Chinese

There is another program Waterlily v1.0 from a Chinese manufacturer:

http://www.scd.com.cn/index.asp

I can't remember where I found the download link (everything is in Chinese) so I'll host the program and document file on one of my sites:

http://vegasmusictalk.com/waterlily-v1.rar - 7.6MB
http://vegasmusictalk.com/waterlily.pdf - 450KB

In the PDF help file, all the screenshots are in English but most of the text is in Chinese making it difficult to understand.

With my 1.8" 3.5.37 firmware, I was able to run the software and by guessing I was able to disable the unwanted GAMES menu and reduce the LANGUAGE options to a short list (Simplified Chinese, English, Japanese and German.) It can do most of the functions of s1res although I prefer s1res for exporting/importing BMP files.

The Waterlily program seems to have a lot of functions but without English documentation I don't know how to use them.

You start Waterlily V1.0 by reading an existing (working) .bin file. You make your changes and then Download the updated data directly to your chiPod. This means you don't have to use MP3player Upgrade Tool.

To be on the safe side, I run s1fwx f newdump.bin and s1fwx r newdump.bin to create the input file for Waterlily.

excellent! already a couple of tools i didn't know about!

i have semi-successfully used waterlilly to flash my player, too (i killed the radio). but am hoping flashing a back-up version will restore it.

keep those links coming. maybe we'll eventually find something which will give us access to a few other features.

cheers,
doon

Yes, the program is in English but the documentation is not. For instance, how do you use the "APP" function?

Thanks for the program, I will try a lot !

Looks like you can't add more files to the resources. But it's ok, more complete than s1res.exe.

One question. what that hell it's Open Logo ? maybe the classic clock ?, but I can see anithing charged.
