Default myPod | instruction on how to modify the PSDs

hi all,

for instructions on how to modify your firmware, please see the helpful posts in the knowledge base and FAQ: here

for help with the myPod PSDs, read below...

i have been asked by someone for help in modifying my posted PSDs.
their problem: this user had 10 (the telbook application) menu items, my player only has 9!

this is what i wrote him:

well...

for the carousel it is going to be easier. since your menu has a different order to it than mine, you are going to have to redo all screens any way.

start by adding another screen for the telefone book app. use any of there:

Click the image to open in full size.

Click the image to open in full size.

(or just check out this link: Apple Developer Site)

this way it will be in the same style as the rest. you will also need to add another grey dot to the top on every screen (and maybe re-center the whole line).

so for each main screen, you have to make sure that the faded icons on the left and right reflect what is before and after the menu item you are working on. remember that this is a loop.

for the list, if you notice on my menu, the scroll bar doesn't begin moving down until you have hit the second to last visible item on the screen. to create the scrolling effect, you do two things: 1) move all menu names "up" a line and add the next item to the bottom (where the cursor bar is). at the same time, you move the scrollbar indicator down a bit. with some trial and error, you can figure out how many pixels to move it down for each of the menu items that are still further down. you want to work it our so that the scrollbar indicator hits bottom with the last item.

does this help?

cheers,
doon

all,

i will post some screenshots to this message which show the grid along with the alignment and cutting i used. might be helpful. keep an eye on this posting...

once i am done with a complete firmware update (themes and skins for all areas), i will upload my firmware here. otherwise, i can make this available on request (but the rest of the screens on the player are a mess right now due to me messing around with different parts).

cheers,
doon

hi,

i have uploaded a listing of all of the images in the U130 section of the firmware.

you will find it in the downloads section under: "U130 Image listing for 3.5.37 firmware"

this should help you see if your player's graphics match up with mine. if not, you can try to use my PSDs and cut images specifically for your player.

if anyone needs flat BMPs instead of PSDs, let me know!

cheers,
doon
