So, how do I modify the CODEC and BITRATE displays to high contrast orange on a "transparent" background ?

BTW, this is for my 1.8" 3.5.37 firmware chiPod.

No transperancy support on these things... and that comes in the actual music.ap and such i believe so only way i see to fixing it is prolly the hex code to it... maybe there's a string that changes the background color for bitrate and such items with predefined background colors...
