HOW TO: change the interface(theme)
 

hi guys,
i'm new to this community
i bought in holiday at spain an ipod imitate
2gb and mp4
it all works but now i want to change the interface(theme) of the mp4 player
now i ask myself how to do this and:
can something go wrong with doing this, so that my player is going to be dead? i'm a little bit afraid, because i have no warranty for this player cause its an imitate...
is it difficult to change the theme or do you just need a tool?
i want to take the myPod theme...
so far, bye

Hey Future, well what i recommend is that you backup a copy of your firmware, and use another copy of your own firmware to edit the images and things. Its quite easy to edit the image. Download s1res (from Downloads-> Tools) and use that to change the images. If you use your own firmware to do this then your player wont go dead and if something does go wrong you always have a backup to fall back on. Hope that helps.

Theming your own firmware is safe using someone elses already themed firmware is not.
To theme your player you need the following resources:

You need to first extract your firmware from your player using s1fwx.
Download HERE

Then you can change the images using s1res

Then reload your firmware to your player using MP3 Player Utilities Update Tool
