Remember to use YOUR OWN FIRMWARE instead.

If you are only changing the .bmp images, that is fine. All you're doing is just changing the images. THe only thing you'll get wrong is that it won't fit in your player or will look wrong. Just change it if it's not right.

Also make sure you have a backup of your firmware as well in case you need to go back to the original.

Have fun, you will be fine as long as you use YOUR firmware and change only YOUR firmware that you have created from the s1fwx tool.
