Default A lot lot.. of questions, changing the theme..

Hello again, before changing the theme to my mp4, firstly I have a lot of questions and I would like to be answered some of them I start:

I have downloaded some themes from the Downloads area and I have seen that they have 14 boot images and 14 end images, and my MP4 only allow 8 end images and 16 boot images, Can I put the 14 images for each one, how can I do it?

[img=left:35cc4d41b9]http://img177.imageshack.us/img177/2876/dscn6050hs5qh3.jpg[/img:35cc4d41b9]

My icon battery is in the right-down corner of the screen and it is vertical, Can I change it to the right-top corner? and put it horizontal? like iPOD theme? How could I do this?

In my MP4 I have two different themes,

the first theme, the screen is divided in two different areas, in the first area it shows a little icon, on top of it appear the name written by the mp4 no an image (I don't know if I have explained well). And in the second area it shows a big icon. The first area measures: 128x48 and the second:128x112

The second theme, the screen is also divided in two areas, in the first area it shows an image with the title in the image, the mp4 don´t write the title the title is in the image edited in a sofware editor (the difference between the other theme), and in the second area shows the other icons, and the icons of the second area have 3 pics (they aren't static they are mobiles). The first area measures: 128x20 and the second: 128x140.

FIRST THEME...............................SECOND THEME

Now I'll ask the questions:

- How can I put the XBOX theme, if the images of the menu are only one(measured: 160x120) , not two like my themes.
- How can I change the position of the 1st area, I would like to put it below.
- How can I delete the 1st area to put the XBOX theme and only have one area?
- Why in one of them appear the title in the mp4 font and in the other with the designer font, how can I delete the mp4 font?
- Why can I put in the 2nd area a mobile pic consit of 4 static images or more?

I think that's all... lol..

Some questions you won't understand because I don't speak english so well because I'm spanish.

I wish some of you could help me! ops:

Bye!

Yusko,
1. No you can not change the number of images in the boot and shutdown animations.
2. No you can not move the battery icon, or the placement of any other icons.
3. Your first theme actually has more pieces than that. Each menu screen is made up of the top header, two side pieces and 4 animation pieces. The two side pieces are only one image but used on both sides.

4. If the new theme is one image 160x120 then you have to cut it into pieces to match your images. This is where the side pieces can be a problem as each they have to be the same so the xbox theme will not work as the left and right sides show different icons.

5. You can not change the position of the first area but you can make it look like it is at the bottom by removing the menu title text string from your firmware and then adding the title to the bottom of the image as in the example where e-books is written on the image.

6. Answered in 4 & 5

7. Because in one the text is displayed with the firmware font and in the other the text is part of the image.

8. If you put the same image 4 times even though it is still changing it will appear static because the image does not change. You can not change the number of images.

Yusko, You need to load your firmware to s1res

1. mstring contains all the text used in the firmware in all languages.
2. FMENU1 is Save
3. Select the Save text in the language you use
4. Change or delete the entry.

You could probably get away with using the end.res and UI30.res from the Vista 1.8 theme, should work great with your player. It will make a good baseline if you're making your own theme.

Later,

Erik
