[solved] Theme change
Hi there,
As a new member to this site, I have downloaded all the relevant tools and extracted and backed-up my firmware. I have even managed to change the boot-up and log-on screen but I am still unsure of how to change my main theme from the original. I have downloaded an IPod theme that I would like to try loading but, from your forum instructions, I am unsure uf what picture to place where in the firmware (UI30) list. For example, there are four disc images for music on the original but I am unsure of what to replace them with as I have a selection of BMP and animated GIF files in my new selection that have totally different names. Also, there are many more images on the original firmware than on the new theme. Thanks for your help and apologies in advance for what may may be stupid questions. |
lennep, Not all firmware is compatible with the iPod menu style. Could you upload your firmware to www.sendspace.com and leave a link to download it. I will check the image layout and then let you know.

Re: Theme change
Thanks tadad1.
I will examine your firmware changes as a learning experience. One question I do have is whether the original menu overlay, e.g, "music". "movie" etc can be edited out as it still exists and is superimposed on the "IPod" logo on new theme? Deserves a donation regards lennep |
lennep, I just realized I had not done the text strings so have reuploaded with them removed. Use the same link to download again.

lennep, I also posted some info on editing text strings HERE
