How to change boot screen?

Hello everyone, I seem to have a bit of a problem changing my mp4's boot screen. I read the guides on how to back-up, change, and update the firmware, and am able to change the menu pictures without any problem, but when I change the boot screen images, all I can see is a black screen with some animated pixels at the bottom few rows and then as normal, the menu.

I was wondering if there was a different process that I did not notice that is required to alter the boot screen? I've tried several other images for the boot images, but they give a similar result each time.

Any help would be appreciated,
Shane

skhoo, Can you upload your firmware and the new images you want to use to www.sendspace.com and leave me a link to download. I will check it out and get back to you.

skhoo, I have deleted your LOGO.RES file and replaced it wih a renamed copy of your END.RES file and changed the images for you.

You can download the Fixed-Dump.bin HERE

Re: How to change boot screen?

Thanks a lot! I'm going to try it right now. Was something wrong with the LOGO.RES file?

EDIT: I seem to be getting "Open upgrade firmware file error!" Is something wrong with the firmware?

skhoo, Ok I have swapped the files again but used a different process. Let me know how it goes.

I'm not sure what the problem is with the original LOGO.RES image files but I have struck this before in a couple of firmware.

Hey tadad1, thanks a lot for your time. It seems to work just fine now. :) If I wanted to change the boot screen in the future, would modifying the dump file you fixed work?

skhoo, Yeah should be good as now.

tadad1, how did you manage to delete LOGO.RES and replace END.RES?? s1res does not allow to do that( i think)

aerox, You can use Waterlily to delete and add files in the firmware.
