Firmware Memory Map

Does anyone have a memory map of the firmware for these players?

I know that the layout will be slightly different for each version of the firmware, but as a SW Engineer, I would like to try to do my own decoding and replacing of 'parts' in the firmware.

ANYONE????

SCGrant327, Try contacting someone at simp3.org they are working on bulding a whole new firmware. It is called the SWAN project you will find links to it on their home page www.s1mp3.org.

I checked it out before...and again since you mentioned it...but still cannot find a memory map. I was hoping to get some insight into the layout of the firmware since we have the ultra-cool tool s1res...

What I really want to be able to do is perform batch replacement of the images. I have the expertise and willingness to look into writing software to do this, I just need a good mapping...or nudging in the right direction.

SCGrant327, I suggest you PM Ian Hawdon (Site Admin) at s1mp3.org If anyone can get you the information it is those guys. The other person who may be able to help you is "wiRe" who makes the s1fwx firmware extraction tool and the s1res customizing tool. You can PM him from s1mp3.org or he has a site s1mp3.de. If they can help you they will.
