SOLVED New Mp4 Player, Still confused?
 

Hi. I just got my new "fake ipod nano". It's the 2 gig in pink. I already formated it to FAT and everything checks out.

I followed the sticky about changing themes. My first problem is I don't know my chipset on my board. I downloaded EasyChip. But when I ran it, it gave me an error message and I never was able to find out.

I still went ahead and ran the tutorial how to change themes. I got to the part where I started editing the pictures. But I downloaded a couple of peoples and I couldnt figure out how there pics fit. For instance they would have 3 images that said Music and the player had 5?

Maybe you guys can help my confussion

Jordan K , Different firmware use different image layouts. Upload your firmware to www.sendspace.com and leave me a link and I will see what themes match your layout.

I downloaded the file. But again being stupid....What's my next step with it? How would I upload it to my player from my computer.

My computer will not detect the usb. It keeps saying malfunction. I guess that's first priority :shock:

You need to install MP3 Player Utilities , for your 1.5 inch player you should use 3.68 which you can download here

Then you use the Mp3 Upgrade tool to load the firmware to your player, there is a guide for that here

Well aren't you all just the smartest people I know. I followed all instructions and imported my new menu's. Which I have to tell you are fantastic. Oh and for my usb problem mentioned on another thread....It's funny because I did try to use other usb ports. However I was using a 2ft belkin extention cable to hook into my pc. When I just connected the mp4 player directly into it, it worked? Maybe my cord is shot.

So this concludes. For kicks, if your still reading this forum. Is there a way to change the cheesy intro and closing of the flower? Ok now i'm being selfish.
