Default If you run MP3 Disk Upgrade Tools, will kill your player

Hey! Some people have bought MP4 Players that if you run MP3 Disk and Upgrade Tools it will Kill your player.

I got a little notice in my player saying dont touch these as these arnt compatible with this.

I think some people might not get a warning and it MIGHT kill your player.

Its unfair really.. I cant do much to my Firmware, ill kill my player if I do..

Dean786, I have used these tools 100's of times on 8 different playes and have never had any problems.
The Upgrade Tool can be a problem because people get excited about the possiblity of upgrading their firmware invariably load a wrong firmware and their players stop working. This is a problem with the person on the end of the mouse not the program.

These warning usually accompany players with hacked memory chips, the reason being is that these are the tools that are used to reveal fake chips and remove the memory hack that makes them read as much larger than their true size and the sellers do not want you to know they have sold you a dud.

If you have a player that came with these warnings I suggest you check your memory.

MP3 Update Tool is not the problem. I use to fixing mp3 player and I can say: MP3 Update Tool IS NOT THE PROBLEM! PROBLEM is people trying to "upgrade" firmware. 99% of problems are wrong flashing.

I would have to agree with both schopf and tadad.

I've used MP3 Player Disk Tool lots of time updating various players. I've never had a problem nor have killed my player in doing so.

I would say majority of the 'dead' players from a firmware update is that they have used firmware that is NOT COMPATIBLE with their player. Even though the shell casing of the player looks the same, the firmware that operates the player can be completely different.

If you use your own firmware file, modify it yourself then reupload it back onto your player, it shouldn't cause you any problems if done correctly.
