yngwie0001 , you will need to open the player and measure the maximum allowed space for the battery.
Some sellers on ebay lists the replacment battery dimensions too, so you can check with it.
However, some players will fit a nano battery, while others won't. But i've found that the ipod shuffle battery would be able to fit.
There was a thread a few weeks back that a replacement battery apparently "balloned" due to some charging issues. But as long as you do not overcharge it, i guess it would be relatively safe.
