If I extract my 9.0.48 firmware, will it brick my player?

Hi, ive seen that alot of people have said that the 9.0.48 can not be extracted or even detected. However i downloaded the firmware extracter from here and it recognises my player. If i extract will it brick my player ?

jcoxy4 , when you try extracting using S1fwx v3.1, you would have noticed that there are some error messages within command prompt. These are caused by the software unable to read certain parts of the ROM chip.

Thats a no then eh.Will there be a tool able to extract the 9.0.48 firmware soon?

there would be out soon..new version of s1fwx will released sooooon...u have to wait...until then u cannot mod ur mp4...

jcoxy4 , at the moment there is no way of telling when the newer version or software would be out. It could be a few weeks, months or even next year.

Extracting the firmware using s1fwx WON'T brick your player. It's just reading the firmware from your player and dumping it to a file. It's not actually changing the firmware on your player or uploading it back into it so you are safe with EXTRACTING it using the s1fwx tool.
