Fonts screwed
I created a backup of my firmware, and tried to mod my player with another f/w. Didnt have any scuccess so I loaded the old f/w back, all seemed to update ok. Player booted up and the language was in Chineese, took me a while to figure how to get to english! anyway, everything looked fine. However, when I go to play a mp3 file now normally where the track name is displayed I get some wierd characters you know like "ypA ypH". This even happens if I change the default language to say dutch, the filename still has funny characters. Any Ideas how I can sort this?

I've just been checking this out because i've encountered the same thing in the last few days.
I first noticed it after i had added a full album in mp3 format with a bitrate of 320kbps. Now everything else on my player is either .ogg @128kbps or mp3 @128/160/192kbps and it shows all the tags fine.. but the 320kbps all show up with ypA, ypH etc etc. So i converted the 320k to 128k and lo' and behold.. all the tags are back... no more wierd characters.. hmmm  |
Re: Fonts screwed
Dont bother, i formatted my player and it solved the issue :D

haha... maybe my player needs that too. Oh well thats just one possible solution among many i'd bet

Yeah, formatting seems to sort a few minor probs out. Give it a try.
