Default Mod skin in a Andy brand MP4 Player

I have bought a MP4 player. I loved it. But I would like to make it look like iPod nano or create my own themes.

The most info I got is:

The firmware version is 9.0.50
One chip says "Samsung 704 K9LAG0HNOM" (a big one)
In a green part says "ZX-6012M-TLS U4.0 KEY 2006.11.22"
When I ask the player's firmware version says:
2006/10/30
9.0.50
2006/06/12
ACT2093_S75

It plays WMA and MP3 audio files. Plays only AMV Video Files. And is black...
 that way or more info?

(Sorry for type errors, i don't write very well in english)

lesmo_sft , sadly you won't be able to theme your firmware just yet. The current versions of the extraction and theming software isn't compatible with fw 9.0.50. The same goes for 9.0.48.
You also won't be able to downgrade your firmware to an earlier version because it will kill it.

Hang in there and enjoy your music and videos. There should be new theming software available in a few months.

cheers

Yes thats the reason it won't dump a copy of your firmware. Another version may make a dump file from your player but it will also be incomplete.

I can't tell you how many months. It may be days, weeks, months... there is someone working on it right now.
There is a version capable of extracting firmware 9.0.48 and 9.0.50 BUT it is only for recovering a dead player using an identical players firmware, not for theming.

Thanks _Odyssey. So I will have to be very, very, very patient I thought.

:?: But, why a lower firmware (for example, a number less like 9.0.49) would (or will ops: ) kill my player :?: :?:

Firmware is 'chip' or 'player' dependent... meaning that only the firmware in your player is the one for that player and no other.

An older version is unlikely to work in a player that uses a more recent version. An older version just won't work. 9.0.43 or 48 couldn't replace 9.0.50.(9.0.49 doesn't exist. Even if it did, you still wouldn't be able to theme it)

It was just and example, I know there isn't a 9.0.49 version.

And that happens too for greater versions??

9.0.49 is actually firmware, but anyways the only firmware that works with your player is YOUR firmware, the one on the player.
There are thousands of versions of 9.0.48, 3.5.7, 9.0.50 ect. because the companies make them for the chipset in your player. If you pick up two of the same players in a company, there's a big chance that each of the players firmware would kill the other player.
