Default Homemade dock for my mp4

I didn't know where to post this since there is no fitting category in this forum but i like to share my idea with you.

My new iMirror mp4player is really much fun, but connecting it with the pc was a bit annoying cause my desktop is overloaded with usb-cables already.
As you know, there are many ipod docks available, but did you ever try to buy such an item for other players?
So i desided to build a nice docking on my on.

I modified a standard mini usbcable to fit into the dock, which i constructed out of white thin plastic plates and some other materials.
The player is holded by a tight frame of foam and i added some metal inside the foot of the case, to give it more weight.

Now, recharging battery and synchronizing data is more comfortable.
I also use the dock as digital photoframe and sometimes for watching movies.

What do you think? Ever thought about going such geeky, too?

Great idea; looks good !

Is the built in speaker on your IMirror loud enough to listen to a video or do you have to use external speakers?

I've often thought that a modification to attach an external battery to the back of my player, perhaps a small digicam or cellphone battery, would be useful.

@jp:
yes, the speaker is loud enough. but i don't use the dock for watching videos that much, because it's right next to my 19"TFT, which is more usefull for video :wink:

@nanotech:
i think there is no market for this (or similar stuff) since there aren't many owners of this mp4 player. And it is the only one fitting in it...

Thank you!
I also made a semi transparent dock for my ipod nano.

Want to see the instructable?
