I have a nano clone player with 9.0.50 firmware version and a really ugly theme in it. I have found 9.0.50 firmware that is just like mine. All UI30.RES images are exactly the same. Whats the possibility that my player will die if I will upgrade it with this firmware?

programmer, i'd say the chances of killing your player would be about 95% to 99%. Just because the pictures in the firmware are the same as yours doesn't mean the actual drivers and code needed to run the player is the same as well. One of the biggest mistakes people make is assume just because a foriegn firmware file looks like thiers it's ok to flash to thier players. The result of course is a blank screen when they turn it on next.

As tempting as it may be to theme the firmware you've found and flash it to your player, it would be best to wait and do some detective work. Find out what player that came from. Check what chip numbers, models, memory etc that the firmware is for. Then compare them with your players info.
You also have to consider a sad truth about these wonderful little chinese innovations. Even if the firmware info matches your players, the risk of it not working is still very high.

sharkyROL , at the moment there is only 1 possible way to theme your 9.0.50 mp4 player. That is to have an exact repaired and working copy of your players firmware that will load into s1res.

If it wasn't included on the installation mini disc that should have come with your player then it is unlikely you'll get a copy of it anywhere else. Note that you will not be able to use anyone elses either, including the copies on this site.
