Are there any types of mods or anything for these?
Just a hello to all members of the site..
I just signed up and its already been helpful. I just received my ipod nano clone a few days ago, its the 2 gig model. So far I like it alot.. I found this site by searching for "ebay mp4 players", and I read some info before purchasing it. It is the real 2 gig model (1.90 something gigs), so maybe I got lucky. The seller insisted that it was 2 gigabytes and not 2 gig bites, soo I took their word. Nervously I did the FAT format, and it still said 1.90 so I guess I was lucky.. Are there any types of mods or anything for these little things? I look forward to being a member:) |
StreetRacer061 , you can theme your player. But that depends on your current firmware version. Have a look at it, System Menu >> Firmware Version. If it is 9.0.43 and below, then you could theme it.
To theme your player, you'll first need to extract your current firmware, guide here http://www.mympxplayer.org/how-to-ex...tool-vt66.html Next, using S1res, you can change the images used in the player, guide here http://www.mympxplayer.org/how-to-mo...ool-vt206.html Finally when done, re-flash the firmware back into the player, guide here http://www.mympxplayer.org/how-to-up...ayer-vt46.html Never ever use someone else's firmware to flash into your player. You will most likely 99% brick it instead, even with all the same firmware version and player casing. |
StreetRacer061, It all depends on what type of player you have and what version of firmware.
The tools used for theming only work with Action chipset players and firmware versions in the 3.5.XX series and 9.0.43 but if your firmware version is above 9.0.43 then at the moment you can't do much with it. There should be an entry in your players settings menu that will give you firmware version details. |
thanks for the replys.. I just seen that its 9.0.50 :(

don't flash it YOU MUST RESIST!! I don't think you will be stupidly lucky like I was when I killed my 9.0.50 player, and after 5 minutes of nervous googling some random guy on my youtube mail posted his firmware and it worked perfectly and I haven't even tried anything else
(my player was in the worse brick state, "ADFU recovery" so I couldn't even turn it on to use it as a flash light) but it works now and im using my own made ipod theme. |
so themes are possible then?
|
StreetRacer061, Themes are possible as long as you have the full factory version of your players exact firmware either from the manufacturer or supplier.
But you can not extract a copy of the firmware from your player for theming. |
yet... [evil laugh]
