Hi i have an noname player with the Action chip (ACU 7515) and firmware 9.1.51. This looks like a newer version (compared to 9.0.50) but you still can not change the volume during video play.

So if I have ACU 7515 chip I can upgrade my fw to 9.1.51 without problem or have to use only MEDIACOM fw?
On italian mediacom site I can't find my product...

mcgyver83 , it is never recommended to "upgrade" any firmware. Chances are 99% you would brick your player instead.

These firmwares are hardware specific, and changes frequently when manufacturers find cheaper component alternatives. However, they do not update the version number as they change the firmware. So even if you get a firmware with the exact same number, most likely it is not compatible with your player.

Just search the dead players section, and you'll understand more.

It`s like an MP3 Player which plays Music CDs only.

To Odyssey:

I'm not agree with you. I reckon that many people upgrading firmwares only because they have the hope to have some improvments or bug fixes. I would like to underline that some mp3 or dvd player are put on market with a lot of problem (such as a poor file management, casual system crashes, etc..). So a user look for a solution on the internet and, unfortunately, in several cases the firmware upgrading fails.
This is also a fault of manifactures which put on market incomplete products because they are pressed by the laws of market. Moreover, they in several cases don't support the final user with official new firmware versions (except famous manifactuers).

Bye
