Help with Firmware
 

well i bought new MP4 yesterday, and it's my first MP4 so i don't know nothing about upgrading firmware and other thinks...
the mp4 display that i have
2006/12/06
9.0.50

a1801n/50
2007/07/14

firmware version... and i have no idea what that numbers mean...

so how i upgrade my firmware? and i want to change the theme of my mp4 so when i upgrede firmware it's upgrade the mp4 theme to?

by the way i have artech (mp424-fm-14) mp4

sash_world , your player currently uses a v9.0.50 firmware. There are No firmware extraction tools available as yet. So you cannot extract your firmware. Without an extracted firmware, it is very risky to download someone else's themed firmware to flash into your player.

These players have firmwares which are hardware specific. However, the manufacturers do not practice proper versions control, so the version numbers do not really make any sense. Just tells you which group of firmware your player belongs to.

So no, it is never recommended to upgrade any firmware. Also, you can't safely theme your player until the extraction tools support your version.
