Hi All,

gemelo71, I did download your firmware, the reason it cannot be viewed, is it is encrypted, it can be decrypted, I will just have to do a little hacking, and then we should be able to access the firmware.

I will place this in a future release, or look at the s1.org site, there is some software that will decrypt the firmware, aftwer which you will be able to open the firmware in the editor.

Cheers

It doesn't work on my 9.1.50. It loads the firmware, but doesn't show any valid pictures, only garbage.

My firmware is dumped using s1clone, maybe it's s1clone's fault, as i still have a lot of doubts about that program (when i chose to verify the dumped firmware with the player it showed a lot of differences).

Great job Dancemammal,

Looking forward to use this software going to play around with it and give it a try. I have my Onda xv 858LE on the way in the mail, maybe i'll have enough guts to do a mod theme on it lol.

Anyways Congrats

make sure you set the correct pixel sizes otherwise it will indeed show garbage.

btw does it show the images as one big strip? can't seem to get the 'display size' view in the preview window?? (ACTION fw)

That tool looks pretty great - thanks for posting it... is there a bit more comprehensive instructions coming, though? And I notice the firmwares included are for the LE version of the vx858 - I have the 858, not the le. Will any of these firmwares work? DO you have any examples/templates for the 858?

thanks

Hi,

There is a users guide comes with the application, this changes every version.

Included now, are a lot of the lst files for other players inc the VX858, this will help you extract the images from your firmware, you can then replace the images how you want (so long as the buttons etc are in the same place).

It is recomended that you use the firmware provided with your player, or provided for your player, or you could risk bricking it.

Other Lst files can be found on this site in the downloads section.

Cheers
