Default Rockbox on Onda VX747?

Has anyone here ported the Rockbox opensouce firmware to their Onda VX747 or other Onda player featuring the Ingenic JZ4732 or Ingenic JZ4740 chips? I recently read that some developers had done this and I am interested in the outcome of this, how well it works, what the functionality is, etc...

great stuff! The Ingenic chips are really quite versatile so I'm looking forward to what people can port to it.

I was unaware that the VX777 firmware could run on the VX747. How does this work given that the capacitive touchscreen of the VX777 is a very different beast than that of the resistive touchscreen of the VX747? Unless both touchscreens have the same hardware interface to the JZ4732 or unless Onda's OEM designed the VX777 firmware to be a master firmware for both now and the firmware identifies which platform it is running on.

Aside from the TV Out (on VX777+) and capacitive touch screen, what is different in the firmware. I'm currently running VX747 firmware V1.31

I was unaware that people have ported game emulators to the VX747. Which game platforms? NES? NeoGeo would be nice. MAME would be my dream game emulator on a portable media player but I think that would require porting each driver (ie. each game's hardware emulation) to the Ingenic chip.

David99 - pop over to the mp4bation onda sub forums there is LOADS on this and we have even made contact with several chinese modders responsible for many mods

onda are also running a modding competition in china for both UI and hardwire and software mods, so could be some interesting developments over the next month

sorry for send ing you off site but the onda sub forum is full of modding the firmware and it would be a task to add it all in here
