To reanimate the player, you need to use:
RK27DM Repair tool for Rockchip 2706
http://mympxplayer.org/rk27dm-repair...706-df947.html
and
Rockchip RK27 Upgrade v2.5

Thanks for your help. I tried a firmware (Ramos - version2.23) last night but it failed. Until that update, I couldn't turn on my mp5 player, but after this update, when I connect it to PC its screen opens but only red screen. No response. I can't update new firmware. How can I do update from beginning. I had deleted original firmware unconsciously. I need to renew it completely.
I am waiting for your help.

If the player doesn't turn ON at the end of this procedure, you can restore it with the recovery guide...
(with RK27DM Repair tool for Rockchip 2706
and
Rockchip RK27 Upgrade v2.5)
Here an italian guide

If somebody wants to translate it in English, there isn't problems

So once you extract the firmware, is there any way to tell what version # it is? I've got a 16GB 3" touch screen that's an RK2706 chipset. The unit's model # is CE-780.

I just uploaded mine, btw. File is RK2706_CE-780.zip.

tried all 4 of the names here, and none of them work. im on windows xp now, ive tried resetting the thing after unplug, then plugging back in, then tried resetting while plugged in, unplugging turning off, then plugging in, etc, but it just does not want to work. does the disk have to be blank? btw my player is the first image you showed but it is 16gb.

how can i figure out what the password for my mp5 is?

Travis90

I can only use your guide to hide the firmware-drive, if I do it this way:

1. Copy "RKUSB.TAG" to player
2. Restart
3. Now the firmware-drive is shown
4. Move "/Resource/BID/BMP0.BIN" to PC
5- Change "BMP0.BIN"
6. Restore "BMP0.BIN" to player
7. Delete "RKUSB.TAG" from player
8. Restart

This works.

But if I have deleted the "RKUSB.TAG" BEFORE this, I cannot get this to work, even though I try to copy a new "RKUSB.TAG" to the player, and run this.

I have more players, and got it to work on one player I havenīt made any changes at. But another player where I deleted the "USB.TAG" from keeps having the firmware-drive.

Do you have any idea of how to get this to work?

Some members are reporting that this is not working on their player, I can only guess that the manufacturer is blocking this activity by using an unknown "tag" name, if this is the case there is nothing that can be done to expose the hidden partition, sorry to say.

Default PLEASE HELP!!!

Hello!

I have Onda mp5 player with 3" touch-screen with 16GB memory. Can you help me please? I did firmware extraction and I replaced the original firmware with another from this forum. Now the player is dead. I can't turn it on. When I plug it in PC I see only disk with multimedia files. I can't see the disk with firmware. I have rkusb.tag in it.

What can I do now???
