RK2608 with upgraded firmware

Hi!
I have RK2608A
and last upgraded with this firmware
mp4-en-v0.03.zip - 2.23MB
(with this new firmware the startup screen is not "Mini mp4 player" but onda animation, and ending is not"good bye" but onda picture -not moving like start-up animation
works good
I want to change the start up screen and the ending screen
Also a menu icons upgrade would not be bad
Is there a possibility for changing the font size of the song titles in "music" mode???
Some songs have looong names and it's impossible to see what you're listening to
And do I have to save it like *lst file and edit it with other software?

My start up and ending screens in 16 bitmap and 320x240 pixels

Is it possible to put 32 bit bmp-s? or only 16??

min size 16bt.bmp - 0.04MB

true house-size 16bt.bmp - 0.04MB

wally lopez-spain not resized.jpg - 1.18MB

And how can I modify the menu when it's cut verticaly and the missing part is in the begining:

wtf.jpg - 0.13MB

[SPECIAL THANKS TO KNOB FOR THE CORRECT FIRMWARE!
:P :)

btw any ideas how to make cool animation from some of these pictures?
like the ministry of sound logo, dissapearing in the dark or something like that

Hi folks!
looks like I will need some kind of *lst file
which I don't have
I found allmost the same lst file but it has only 2 startup lines
and my firmware (which I last uploaded) has a animation made from many pictures
and the ending is 1 picture( not moving) which should be made from multiple images too
PLS if anyone knows how to make LST files
take this lst http://www.mympxplayer.org/rockchip-...lst-df702.html
for example and add the missing startup and ending lines
THANK YOU!

hi gvdgvdgvd

Good to hear your search had a Happy ending :D :D
You were very lucky to find a working firmware for this player.

Here are some tools to help with theming the player.

nevermind I did it..
It;s working now with new start up and ending screen
(spent 5 hours of making it in paint)

gvdgvdgvd 14th Aug 2008 10:06 am

btw thank you for the links but I read ALL the topics in the download section yesterday...
I will try to upload a video with start up animation :)
or just the 240x9600 picture I made
the font programs failed to work with tis firmware
And 1 last question:
If I want to change the menu screen
I will just have to replace the picture with another one?
(with the corresponding icons on it on the same place as the original menu)

Re: RK2608 with upgraded firmware

Hey can you keep us up-to-date with your theme and firmware? Maybe make a tutorial for RK2608A ? :P And does your MP4 include the DC?

Hi
I just changed the start up and the shut down screen
I dont know if i can change the menu screen only with replacing the menu picture with the theme software
I used 0.3 firmware and .lst file from another firmware 0.2 or 0.4
because there is no lst file for the version i used
there are no more bugs with this firmware
you can upload your firmware
like this:
use this firwmare (I included lst file)
mp4-en-v0.03.rar - 1.46MB

then edit your firmware with this software
http://www.mympxplayer.org/rockchip-...120-df884.html

and then upload on your player with this
http://www.mympxplayer.org/rockchip-...120-df884.html

uploading:
turn off player
press the menu button and HOLD
wait 5 secconds, then connect to PC with the cable
wait until your PC shows a message for ne hardware
then release menu button
May be your PC will need some time to install software for your" new" device
which is actualy a 60 Mb partition on your player for installing firmware
in My computer THERE SHOULD be neither 2 removable disks, nor 1 removable disk
then open the software and upload your firmware on the player
when ready, disconnect form PC and turn on
be very carefull if your players is rockchip
the firmware which I uploaded may BRICK YOUR PLAYER
be very careful and find a spare firmware so you can "repair" your player
GOOD LUCK
btw tell me if my english is good (:

good stuff

but please outline ALL the details of your paltyer so users can compare and put the warning about this firmware at the top of your post and in BIG RED WRITING
you were lucky in finding this firmware and unless people are 1000000% sure their player is EXACTLY like yours then they can use it

beware
take NO NOTE of firmware number, they are just number and mean nothing

DO NOT USE THIS WITHOUT AN WORKING FIRMWARE FOR YOUR PLAYER

just be careful all, even thoug the mods may be fantastic the ossibility of bricking the player is very high
