I'm new here and am interested in making themes

Hi I'm new to these forums and have just ordered a clone of the Ipod Nano 2nd Gen (I think) from E-bay.

I hope to be able make themes for it as I like graphical design work . Firmware... So these MP4 players enable updates, I am interested in PSP Hacking, developing etc. and the case always is to have an old fw or even better a custom fw, which allows all the capabilities of an updated fw and an old fw .

This MP4 player is supposedly supposed to have 4GB of memory, I mean possibly it could have 4GB (2x2GB). Or it could be hacked telling me that it has 4GB when it really has 2GB or less. As long as it is 2GB I will be OK but if it is any less then I will be not very happy, because that is partly the reason I bought it.

Yes I am interested in making my own themes for it, older the firmware the better right?

Any tips/support would also be much appreciated!!!
