FWTools 2.6.1.0 , Rock GDK from this site. MS VS2003 as text editor. Paint from Windows.... and 20 years of experience

This is much improved! It's got 3 levels.

It should be a challenge for WIZARD now!

I've just tested the new version: it has three levels
(the main level from v1.0 turned to Easy in v2.0)and improved interface.
The opponent is now strong at the Hard level, he mated me !

I have two ideas about possible Final minor improvements,
which would make the game just the Perfect :

1) Choose the side : it's quite strange that you can't play for black side, only for white.
(White side requires offensive strategy, but Black - defensive)
It could be asked at the main menu, after the level of difficulty is selected.

2) Move sound : for example, you've chosen the Hard level,
and want not only to play in Chess, but also to read a book or newspaper.
(smart opponent will be thinking carefully, up to several minutes)
With the Move sound, it will not be necessary to check every minute
if it's your turn now or player is still thinking.
I have a good move sound (check the attachment)

I've found a small bug called "Ghost of the Pawn",
which can be quite confusing:
if you'll make the move En Passant
En passant - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
and take the enemy's pawn, it will not disappear;
but it will lose the ability to move and eat your chessmans,
and other chessmans can go through it,
only the image of pawn will remain, like the ghost,
until another chessman will move to it's square to replace the ghost.
Why? Because of the algorithm:
the image of enemy's (and your) chessman which was taken
didn't disappeared, but was replaced with image of chessman who took.
But in the En Passant move one pawn will not replace the image of another,
because after the move it will stay on another square.
How it could be fixed?
Just make the image of the taken chessman
to disappear Not to be replaced.

And, also, have you any luck with MoveSound?

Because, with those two small but important changes,
it'll become just perfect!
