Don't forget to vote in the poll if you want more of these "Rock" games

This is a thread for porting Rock .rkp games to rk26xx series players.
But…. Is it worth bothering anymore? Has anyone still got one of these players?

Do you know any shop that still sells players that support Rock games?
Dealextreme still have these, a buyer uploaded a vid showing a rockgame played:-
DealExtreme: $41.90 Stylish 2.4-inch 1GB MP4 Player with SD Card Slot

I pretty sure they are no longer manufactured or are they?

Anyway this is going to be an attempt to port existing games to work as a Rockgames.

If you don't already have it you can download the SDK from here:-

Here is a good candidate.:-
Main Page - Sp305x wiki

This mp4pong game runs on the Sunplus SPMP305X-processor, the source code in c
Is here:-
Index of /mp4-pong

It’s a GNU General Public License game.

All the interface pictures and sound are in the package.
The screen is 320x240 so is a perfect match.

I'll upload the game and source code when I've got it working.;)

Here is a photo of the Game menu working:-

And here is the game running:-

It's full of bugs. but it runs.

Here is the game now ported to work with a Rockchip Rk2608 player.
Including source:-

needs a bit more work, but it's playable, your Rockchip player must support
.rkp games to use this!

It does not work on my 2608A (320x240), but I think it is a great idea to port games for this. In Poland is quite a lot players that supports Rockgames.

EDIT: IT works! But very slow...

Nice work knob! Actually I dont own a rk26 player only rk27, spmp305x and spmp8000 based ones.
I started to port DOOM to the spmp8000 (have a look at the mp4nation.net Modding forum).

There're a lot of Rockchip RK26xx players, no problem! ;)

Yes, it's too slow, and I need to turn off my player to exit from this game.

P.S. I've found a lot of players - exactly the same as mine, but with a different brand names.
Example:
ASK COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY CO. Model: ASK8298
How to find more:
Copy one long string from description, put it in "quotes" and google!

I've tried putting the other Rokchip games on my touchscreen MP4 player but it doesn't work unfortunately so alitle disappointed with that :(
I like Bubble Breaker, I have it on my Windows Mobile HTC Snap phone and the kids play it a lot :).
Keep up the good work everyone!

Humm, I'm going to have to get myself a new player and take a look at the new chipsets in them and what they can offer............. Wonder what the format of the games are.
