Default Rockchip SDK moving forward! (RKCrown?)

Rockchip SDK moving forward! (RKCrown?)

Well I tried to buy a new RK27xx series player to use with the SDK.
I figured that a RAmos RM970 clone would be the best bet.

Got one from ebay had the same old crappy Rockchip interface, but looking in the system setting it said rk261x. What! a 26xx series! no, its a RkCrown player!

Well the rkusb.tag trick works, sort of, but you get an extra partition. Well, backed up everything from the player.
Seems that if you try to swap out anything on the firmware partition it overwrites it using another backup somewhere.

There is a mystery folder in the partition called "ãõ╦¹╗·ð═" that you can't get into, copy or delete.I suspect that's where the backup is held.

Managed to get hold of the update tool for RKCrown but the firmware needs to be packaged into an .img file, but it's a new format it seems, and can't be opened with winimage.

I would like to see if I could make a firmware for this player using RK27xxSDK but I need to be able to open the new .img
format to flash onto the player.

Managed to brick this player lol.

Messing around with the deveopment tool I managed to somehow accidently merge 2 firmwares so I got the pics from another player and the firmware from the original.

Luckily I found the exact firmware image and reflashed it using the develop tool.
I'll upload it to this site as this is a very common player on ebay at the moment.

Got into the ãõ╦¹╗·ð═" partition using ubuntu linux it was just named with chinese characters which didn't display on XP.
nothing special in there just further copies of ADCKEY.TXT, PWON_SET.TXT and SYS_SET.TXT

Well at least I have a working backup now so I can play some more!

Default Modding RKCrown RK261xx series players

I am now able to mod the Rockchip Crown firmware with a new modding tool, so we are slowly making progress.

I have attached the modding tool to this post.

Thanks for the update Knob.
I don't have a 26xx series Rockchip player. The one I have isn't compatible.
I'm going to head down the Android path personally.

Keep up the great work with the Rockchip players though and thanks for sharing all this with us.
