Default Glacier Mp4 Review

***To day im going to review the Glacier Mp4 2GB Player from Uxcell***

Shipping - the shipping took exactly a week to arrive at my house in Vermont
Packaging - The packaging came in a generic mp4 player box, but it had a nice brown paper envolope. Also they mark it as a gift to avoid customs charging you.

**** Heres a picture ****
Click the image to open in full size.

The Pros

*Large, clear, 2 inch TFT LCD screen.
*Built in stereo speaker(and its loud!!!!!).
*Can use Nokia Cell phone battery Bl4C & Bl5C ( Get about 12hrs of play).
*Great battery life, people have recorded upto 12 hours of continuous play with power saving features.( With normal battery*)
*up to 20 hours of high quality voice recording.
*Plays audio, videos, games, FM radio, etc like other digital mp4 players.
*Displays text, photos, addresses, etc.
*Nice design with very responsive buttons.
*Affordable price, $60.00 for a 2 gb.
* It has the most clear fm radio i have ever heard.
* Video quality was pretty good considering its only a 60K color screen

Now the Sad Cons

*USB cable is little too short. ( i had a 16 ft cable so that didn't worry me)
*USB cover was very loose i had to push it in quite hard.
*Battery cover is VERY hard to get off.
*Comes with very few badly made games.(but i have a psp so i didn't care)
*The buttons were very close together ( I have large fingers)
*The new Kind come with firmware 1.9.5.1

Over all Impressions. it was amazing and well worth 60 bucks all the pros deffintly cancel out the cons

And Uxcell Rocks

Thanks for the review.
I've been considering one of these.

Does this player allow you to listin to music while searching folders/browsing photos/playing games?

Also do you know if there are any accessories or cases made for this? I really like having a case with armband for if I ever actually workout.lol.
Thx.

Hi kope007. I have one of these and unfortunately it does not allow to browse files, etc. while listening to music. The Action chipset contained in this player doesn't support multitasking. Overall it's a good player, but now that i have it i wouldn't buy it again, i'd go for a rockchip. Action-based ones aren't that reliable. The good things about it are the big crisp screen, the fact that it's very small and it does not kill the battery and the cool speaker.

Thanks.
Thats too bad. I really like the look and price of these.
But I'm afaid that for my next one (I just got my first mp4 like two days ago. lol) its got to be able to at least browse music while still playing it. If you get 4gb that can take some time to get through.

Do all rochchip players have this ability. Or is it firmware that allows this? Maybe a combination?

I am not sure, but i think it's the chipset that allows this. Probably the architecture is a bit different in rockchips.

About the player, i am very satisfied with it and didn't have any problems for now. It's pretty solid and reliable. But, as I told you, I'd go for a rockchip one IMHO.
