Re: Ainol V2000 MP4 Player Video Review
Very, very nice. How are the music organization/library/palylist possibilities? In general I wish that more sellers (and reviewers) mentioned this, as this is the one important feature most of the Chinese players have yet to master.
I'd get a player like this in a heartbeat if its maker stepped out from the mold of Chinese manufacturers. That means a slower product turnaround with more time spent on making features 'slick' rather than just working, and at least a half-decent attempt at 'official' support in English. |
Well it doesn't support playlists exactly - watch the video review i did for the Gemei X750 - it uses the same interface (except the Ainol UI looks nicer) - basically you can load either all your music or create a sort of playlist by indiviually adding music files to be played by the music player, you can also select entire directories - so in a way its like having a playlist function.

Gah... Any ARM-based PMP should have more than enough processing muscle to implement a database allowing for sorting and browsing by tag information as well as playlists based off this database. Especially these ADI Blackfin-ones as they've got power up the...
A bit strange that such a thing isn't implemented in the standard firmware they're buying. Oh, well... Thanks for the information. |
Zaphod, i agree with you, the ADI blackfin can probably handle databases - but these Chinese companies don't want to invest in the research in making one - this is why Meizu stands out from all of them, as they concentrated on 1 product and developed very good software
Companies like Ainol and Gemei who use the ADI processor use the same generic software - they just customize the look of the UI. This is also why all rock chips and action chip set players have the same UI. Individual companies do not want to spend money on making their own software and don't want to (or can't afford) to buy more advanced software for their players. |
