My own Onda VX545HD review
Well, i was one of the lucky ones that get this player in the first pre-sale at MP4Nation.net, a great deal, cheaper than every other seller....
after 2 days playing with my vx545 running the firmware 1.2 test (not the B one) i found the follow: 1.- It did work really good with all the movies that i put on it and my 8GB TF card.. basically most of them RMVB, some of them BR rips that i download... some avi's, but i like more RMVB. 2.I found that TV out was really good (well i only tested on a 20" lcd tv) only downside that is PAL, im in Mexico so i'd have to use a pal to ntsc converter.... 3.- Screen is just fantastic, great color, wont see any pixel so easy, wide angle view except viewing from downside. 4.- on my first charge (let it charge for about 14hrs) it did play continue video for 4 hrs 20 min. only (2 and a half movies).. using it own screen with bright setting at 20 (low), and using the internal speakers at 15-20 volume level. I hope it get better after a few uses.. 5.- TV out only works on the playing video. That is a problem to me as to change to another movie i have to wake up my bed, go to the player to choose the video, play it and then change it to TV output. The TV out should be available all times in next firmware updates i think, also i only tested it on the general output not component one... 6.- Fm transmitter works well, sound level a little down but clear if you extend the headphone cord in a right angle. 7.-UI like everyone said, is not a really good one, but is not that bad either, i think that because of the few buttons available that you have to make a lot of clicks to get what you want. 8.- it is a bulky player but small enogh to carry it in my back jean pocket, and still have a great 5" screen. 9.-it is look very well built, looks durable but i have my doubts because of the buttons use... could we had a problems with damaged buttons on the future?? i'll use the remote as much as i can to avoid the button wear out... 10.-The remote comes with 13 buttons, were 8 are label with symbols (play, mute, next, etc) 4 are label with Chinese characters and only one had an actual function (back function) and 2 not labeled, so they cover all the player button and still have 5 buttons available for next firmware upgrades... 11.- Write speed is slow, it took me about 25 min to write a 2.2gb file 12.- test on tv out after second charge of 14 hrs, it last for 6 hrs and 45 min... (fm trasmitter was on and volume level at 30) 13.- test lrc lirycs on the music player.. they work... but no way to adjust font size nor type this is a really nice gadget, i will enjoy it on my trips..... |
