Default Ipod nano clone 5th gen. 8GB 2.2" MP3 MP4 Player FM Radio Camera

I just received my 8g ipod clone 5th generation from Hong Kong (ebay 26 euro shipped) it supports Touch button + Shakable function + Camera +Built-in FM Radio

the package include:
  • the ipod nano clone
  • a very low quality earphone
  • a tiny user manual (english)
  • theUSB cable
  • a pouch
  • AC charger (without EU adapter)

the memory is not fake, 8gb effective, tested copying mp3 and videos until quota was reached.

This clone can take camera and video shots altough the quality is very low (images size is max 2048pixels but i am quite sure it's interpolated)

the video quality is very low and upscaled so i am not posting.

Since the earphone included are garbage, i
tested using a good pair of panasonic headphone.

The RADIO misses the RDS function and volume wheel is not working (have to use the buttons to adjust volume); it supports the MP3 recording of the stations. I noticed that everytime i enter the RADIO and use it a little bit, then the buttons are not answering anymore as they should, there is a sort of LAG, have to press 3 or 4 times the Menu' button, and to avoid it have to restart the player!

The MP3 player perfomance was not good. The sound quality was simply poor. I tried to manage it testing other equal. settings without success. Indeed you can't even set a custom equal. setting, the menu doesn't work on that link.

the player supports also some basic games, and a calendar as well

i compared with another cheap mp3 player that cost the same and the sound quality is much better as well the battery life (more than 7 hours).

Overall, this toy has many features but the main function for wich it was bought for (the mp3 player) it's not performing well.

I don't know if those chinese clones altough look all the same are different inside, but this version, in my honest opinion, is not good (Ebay seller: etime2010).

Thanks for the review skyone,

The outter finishing on the player looks quite nice.
Sorry to hear about the disappointing MP3 playback. Even with a good pair of Panasonic earphones, you're saying the sounds quality is poor which is a real shame. It's a pity that they make no effect to improve the player. Unfortunately it's just one of those players that are produced quickly and cheaply for a quick sale.

Hi, thanks for your review. Geat to see this.
I have this mp4 but it comes without the manual user in english and I need it to give it like a gift for my brother.
Please could you send me the manual user as text file?
Thank you.

this board has been pretty dead since 2007 ... where can I find more recent firmwares and firmware extractors or modify programs?

I made a post like 5 days ago and other than myself, no one seems to have even looked at it.

It makes me wonder if they abandoned this board and moved to a new website/forum.

Hi rapierdragon,

No, the board isn't dead, just not as busy as it was before. I guess times have changed and a lot of the regulars who have contributed largely to the board has moved on (it was expected). Also, because this board has been around for over 6 years now, there is a lot of content that has already been covered so majority of the problems have already been covered or discussed already.

As for me, life has been very busy since I started the site about 6 years ago. I now have three kids and working a lot of hours so I don't have as much time to spend on the site and board as I used to before.

I'll take a look at your post and see what I can do to assist/help.
