Well, some other discoveries:

My new mp5 (looks exactly like the pic in the first post..)
CAN play nes, gb, gbc and .bin (no gba or anything else)..
Judging from texts and file sizes, I believe...

well at last good news for me!! :D

I bought another identical mp4 and took a good backup of the new one
It has the latest -I think- firmware version (v321.5678 - 58,2mb uncompressed)..

can you upload your firmware somewhere like rapidshare etc. ?
most probably you have an mp4 player like mine, which still runs very bad with non-compatible firmware..

I had some success :o after lots of experiments...

about usb, I realised that I dont have to re-install the driver all time,
I just have the mp4 turned off, and plug in to PC when I press the X...

actually, I had it downloaded, the exact file you proposed to me!

by experimenting, now I managed to flash only with ISP 5.2 the DefaultFW.bin, but this did not fix...
