Never try to change the firmware! Believe me, you have big chances to brick your player and finding firmware for sunplus is really really hard... I tried to change mine with 10+ firmwares so far and...

Oh, in this case there's not much I can do... It's a FFMpeg problem. I do not work with C/C++ so I can't fix this bug. It is indeed known to crash with some video files (randomly).
