Got a hacked player - advertised as 8GB but was actually 4GB. I performed the above process but could not slide the partition bar - so I just performed a Low level format. This worked okay on Windows...

If the trader had advertised with an honest description i.e. all of the flaws that you described, would you still have bought it? "Supplier has okay feedback"?? Perhaps this "okay feedback" was left...
