Actually, it should be ok. The drive will only draw the amount of current it needs. I may have to try one of these.
Only trouble is, my hard drive recently failed so I don't have a laptop hard...

I wonder if you could make a battery power supply for the hard drive. What are the power requirements for an external 2.5" hard drive?
Seems to me the hard drive based MP3 players do pretty good...

How does that work? How do you know what your dragging where wihout a screen?

Here is a hard drive enclosure I found on ebay. This is the same guy that I bought mine from. They're nice and small and cheap, too!

Ok, the title is a little misleading. You can't really hook up an external drive to the nano clone. But here's what I do...

I love my Nano clone. It's only 1GB but that holds about 15 or so albums...

When I purchase a video on itunes I play the video on my desktop using itunes. My desktop has a composite video output on it. Then I use DVD Xpress on my laptop to capture the video and audio output...
