I took this thing to work and it connected right away to my computer without drivers having to be installed. We are running XP at work. So what's the deal? The manufacturer says it works with 98 but...

I bought a Karbon MP-821 1GB MP3 player for my daughter for Xmas and I can't get the computer to connect with it. The manual says it's compatible with Windows 98, which is what our system is...
