The player does not boot up nor function as a flash disk. It seems like a dead player because the screen is TOTALLY BLANK!
I tried several methods [such as installing a Win98 driver for XP] but...

Its actually not a dead player. It is still [technically] working [because it is still charging] but it acts like one.
It was removed during updating and now it is like an EMPTY SHELL. I can't...
