Re: [Ask] SWF converter

Are you sure it uses swf, not flv? FLV is the new standard for flash video (used on youtube etc), so I'm wonderin if if it says "flash video" it means flv instead?
Have you gotten other files...

Most have 2.5mm jacks, the default size for most headphones is 3.5mm. So you'll probably need a 2.5-to-3.5mm adapter if you want to use better earphones.

Re: can you download vids. from youtube onto a chiPOD

Just been experimenting, and found that if you get the flv and bring it into MediaCoder:
* under "Picture" tick "resize", and dropdown to 128x96. If you hit the "resize" button, it will pop up a...

Re: Borders around widescreen videos

I just tried 128x96 on mine, and it works fine, looks like the background on mine must be black, which is lucky 'cause it's got the 9.0.50 firmware, so can't hack it yet.

On a side note, the...

Re: you should make a keyword search thing for the site

Re: Borders around widescreen videos

There's numerous programs you could use, VirtualDub is free and fairly straight-forward. Get the "unofficial" MPEG2 version (just search for "virtualdub mpeg"), then you can also import mpg.

Re: AMV Conversion Help

That sounds like way too many steps. Each time you re-encode to a new format, you lose quality. There should be a wmv to avi converter out there somewhere, then you cut down the re-encodings to...

Re: can you download vids. from youtube onto a chiPOD

chiclete, it depends on how you are doing your conversions, and what codec you use. I've been using xvid or divx, and when combined with the fact that you are resampling from 320x320 down to...

Re: can you download vids. from youtube onto a chiPOD

Yep, can do, I've done a few now (only had the player about a week).

First part is to actually obtain the flv (flash video) from youtube. You need a third-party plugin to do this, in Firefox...

Re: CHIpod. my loves, my loathes.
