You can buy Teclast players directly in the UK from Climax Digital (http://www.climaxdigital.co.uk). Or you could order from the US from FutureDaps (http://www.futuredaps.com).

Q1) Could someone educate me on what is ipod & the differences between ipod and MP3 or MP4?
-There's been quite some explanation already on the iPod so I will focus more on the Chinese players...

Well sh*t happens ;) Anyway it was a cheap player (€ 65,- for 4GB incl. shipping), so I don't care too much ;)

It seems like I might have killed it for good now :( I tried quite some combinations, however none of them seemed to work.... Now when I connect the USB, the player turns off right away...

Knob the only button that still works on my player is the 'power on' button (and the on/off button). All the 5 other ones don't work :( I'll try the flash chip sometime later today.... Still waiting...

Anyone knows which chip should I short to get it into upgrade mode? I have 3 chips on my board:
-Rockchip CPU
-Memory Chip (probably ROM)
-Memory Chip (RAM)

Make sure you have SD and no SDHC!!! Most cards with a capacity over 1GB are SDHC cards nowadays, but most players only support regular SD!
I was able to use a REGULAR 4GB MiniSD on my RockChip...

There are quite some nice tools on the Chinese forums, however translation tools still suck :'(

I would go for either Meizu (also sold as Dane Elec sometimes) or Teclast (or it's OEM's) since they have regular firmware updates :)
