I can't upload the image without a cable, thats threason for all the posts so far. I'm trying to figure out what kind of cable it is, so i can buy another one to use.

it has four pins but the pins are on the top...

it has four pins
but the pins are on the top and bottom of the head
which makes it eight, but only four wire connect to it. Each wire has two pins one on top and then another on the bottom.

i know you said the usb cable is probably fire wire, but mine has a very small end and an end thats a normal usb. The small end is rectangular with the top left & right corners at a slant.

I think the first set of #'s the 8G means its a 1 gig if i'm not mistaken.

ok , for some odd reason it works now, which means it may not work again in the future. I will probably need to get another usb cable because thats the most likely reason, its still a lose connection...

It has a hynix memory chip, it also charges fine when connected to computer. I took the usb cable apart at the ends and found out that one of the wires was not connected, so its possible that was...

It still works fine, it just doesn't connect to the computer and same with a laptop i have.
