I do not know if the steps will work on most players, since I only tried two that had this problem. It is very tricky to get that green light on, try any combination of things you may think of before...

Did you let the battery completely run out?
If so, there is a solution.
Don't use the computer, use your supplied charger. My mp4 came with one which has tho LEDs, one red that indicates...
