For of those of you who are interested, it turns out that the factory shipped the entire batch of players with the wrong software, the supplier is emailing me the new software......

Sorry for the late response....

I already downloaded the sample file for the 1.8 inch screen and received the same error message : FILE VER: 003

VER Not Supported
...

I am still battling, downloaded the converter....

chose 160x128
sports video
audio set at good

the file I was converting, was an AVI file at 7,647 kb....

the result was what I normally...

This is similar to my problem, I also got video converter, sometimes I get failed to load errors...and the once I do manage toconvert, give me a File version number and then ver. not supported...

This is getting interesting now, I managed to download MTV video converter ver 1.12.11, which is a step up from the version I got with the player, after converting the file, I attempted to play it,...

The whole bloody thing is held together by two small small screws, bitch to open..... :(

ANyhow, there was a copper plate over the back, which I leifted gently to reveal two chips, the bigger...
