Hi,

Can you explain about the problem more please?

Some questions for you:

1.
When you use the Convert Tool 3.57 and select your video file to convert to a .mtv file, does it convert it and say it's completed successfully? Or does it come up with an error?

2.
Have you tried downloading the.mtv sample files from our site and put them on the player and does it play the file? If not, then you can also try the .amv sample files from our site instead.

If you can answer these questions, I'll be able to help more :).

Thanks,
Binh

Re: video downloads on the mp4 player in amv format

Hi techkrazy,

Most MPx players can either play .MTV or .AMV and not both. .AMV video files is generally an 'upgrade' of the .MTV file as it has video compression whereas .MTV doesn't.

If you can play .AMV, then use the 3.68 converting tool instead as that will convert your video files to .AMV files.

Yes, it can convert a number of video files. You need to make sure you the required DirectX9 and Windows Media Player 9 or higher installed for it to convert properly.

Hope this helps.
Thanks,
Binh

There isn't a MTV Video Player installed as part of the 3.57 converting tools install so that's why your computer can't play it. The 3.68 has the AMV Player installed so you can play that on your computer. The best way to test the .MTV file is to copy it onto your player and see if it plays on your plays.

Generally MPx players can only play either .MTV or .AMV and not both.

Binh

Thanks Binh!!

the .mtv file is playing on my player in the music folder
while the .amv file is playing in the video category.

Binh, why does the player loose memory after formatting the player?
i have tried to format a 512MB player, the player lost about 272MB memory after format??

and why the hell does a 512MB player accept only 60songs and 1 video and some images? whereas it should be accepting nearly 100songs

please advise urgently

thanks and regards

1. Install AMV Convert Tool 3.68

2. From the [start] menu then "programs" then "MP3 Player Utilities 3.68".

3. Choose "AMV Convert Tool"

4. Click on "Add file" icon and choose the file you want to convert.

5. Change your "Output file" location to where you want the new .amv file to be stored.

6. Click on the "Begin" button (it's the one with the two arrows).

7. The plug in your player through USB.

8. Copy the converted .amv file into the drive of your player (it's the one that shows up as "removable device" from Windows Explorer).

The full instructions can be found here.

Hope that helps.
Just play around with it.

Thanks,
Binh

I think it might be because of a few reasons:

1. You might have gotton ripped off by the person who sold it to you. There are ways to 'fool' the system to show up as 512MB when it doesn't have that much memory in the first place.

2. You can try doing a "Low" format using the "MP3 Player Disk Tool" from the "MP3 Player Utilities 3.68" start up menu to see if that helps. Make sure you backup your files and the player is connected.

You can also check out these sites too. Other people also have had similar problems like yours.

Increase screen resolution ?

I have a chinese 256 MP4. I want to increase the resolution from 128X128 to more if possible. My Mp4 screen is much bigger then that resolution 128X128. While playing amv videos, the title appears at the bottom of the screen and makes the screen bit smaller.I was wandering if I'd remove those title. If anyone'd help me in this matter...

Hi sachitmaskey,

Can you do me a favour and start a new topic post please?

As this is a different topic subject from the "video downloads on the mp4 player in amv format" you posted your msg in, it would be nice to start a new thread with your own topic instead and everyone can discuss it there.....

Thanks,
Binh

Re: video downloads on the mp4 player in amv format

You will need to convert it firstly to a .AMV video format (or .MTV if your player supports that instead).

Download the tool here: AMV Convert Tool 3.68 (MP3 Player Utilities 3.68)

Instructions on how to use it is here.

Re: video downloads on the mp4 player in amv format

Hi,

I'm new to this forum. I purchased a MP4 player for my Daughter of 12 years old. It's a Nano look alike, I have the latest Direct X and also the latest media player, I also download the AMV convert tool 3.68 from this site. I had some videos that i dowloaded, so put it in the AMV converter. It seemed to be converted correctly, upload it to the MP4 player but the picture is scrambled. I'm not sure what i'm doing wrong. So i uploaded some videos from this site, and it worked fine, but the ones that i downloaded myself does not. Can someone help please.

raswin,

Have a look at this Knowledge Base - How to: Convert to .AMV using the MP3 Player Utilities 3.68 from here.

This should guide you through the process of converting an .AMV file.

Hope it helps.
