Hi,

Can you explain about the problem more please?

Some questions for you:

1.
When you use the Convert Tool 3.57 and select your video file to convert to a .mtv file, does it convert it and say it's completed successfully? Or does it come up with an error?

2.
Have you tried downloading the.mtv sample files from our site and put them on the player and does it play the file? If not, then you can also try the .amv sample files from our site instead.

If you can answer these questions, I'll be able to help more .

Thanks,
Binh

Hi techkrazy,

Most MPx players can either play .MTV or .AMV and not both. .AMV video files is generally an 'upgrade' of the .MTV file as it has video compression whereas .MTV doesn't.

If you can play .AMV, then use the 3.68 converting tool instead as that will convert your video files to .AMV files.

Yes, it can convert a number of video files. You need to make sure you the required DirectX9 and Windows Media Player 9 or higher installed for it to convert properly.

Hope this helps.
Thanks,
Binh

There isn't a MTV Video Player installed as part of the 3.57 converting tools install so that's why your computer can't play it. The 3.68 has the AMV Player installed so you can play that on your computer. The best way to test the .MTV file is to copy it onto your player and see if it plays on your plays.

Generally MPx players can only play either .MTV or .AMV and not both.

Thanks,
Binh

Thanks Binh!!

the .mtv file is playing on my player in the music folder
while the .amv file is playing in the video category.

Binh, why does the player loose memory after formatting the player?
i have tried to format a 512MB player, the player lost about 272MB memory after format??

and why the hell does a 512MB player accept only 60songs and 1 video and some images? whereas it should be accepting nearly 100songs

please advise urgently

thanks and regards

techkrazy

1. Install AMV Convert Tool 3.68

2. From the [start] menu then "programs" then "MP3 Player Utilities 3.68".

3. Choose "AMV Convert Tool"

4. Click on "Add file" icon and choose the file you want to convert.

5. Change your "Output file" location to where you want the new .amv file to be stored.

6. Click on the "Begin" button (it's the one with the two arrows).

7. The plug in your player through USB.

8. Copy the converted .amv file into the drive of your player (it's the one that shows up as "removable device" from Windows Explorer).

The full instructions can be found here.

Hope that helps.
Just play around with it.

Thanks,
Binh
