Portable 1.2"screen MP4 player

Sir,
I have portable chinese made MP4 player 512 MB with 1.2" screen. I am not able to download videos. As per your instructions seen in this site, I downloaded 3.68. When I tried to convert video files, it converted successfully. But when I tried to play back, it showed error. I downloaded your sample Santana. But when I tried to replay, it showed, windows cannot trace this file. Please advise me how I can download audio and video files, pictures. Also advise me how I can erase any files downloaded. I received MP4 software disc which contained a software in chinese language. Through that I downloaded one MPEG file. Now I am not able to erase it. It is not playing also. The instruction manual given did not give full details and I am not able to use it. Even the radio stations I am not able to save and use them. Kindly explain to me in detail how I can make optimum use of the player.
Regards.

Hi Electron,

To answer your questions:
1. To answer your question "Please advise me how I can download audio and video files, pictures", just plug your player into your computer. Windows will pick it up as a removable drive. From "My Computer", double click that removable drive and copy your files across as you would normally with any drive. If you have Windows 98 or lower, you will need device drivers for it.

2. To answer your question "Also advise me how I can erase any files downloaded" - same as above, but just delete the files from removable drives from My Computer.

3. To answer your question "even the radio stations I am not able to save and use them", to save a radio station, fine the one station you want, press the "MENU" button, then choose "Save" from the list. Once you have a lot of channels saved. To jump to another saved channel, just press the "PLAY/PAUSE" button.

Here are some questions for you as I need some more details to answer your questions:

1. Does your player play .MTV or .AMV files? This is important as both are different and not all players can play both files. So, the Santana file you downloaded might actually not work because your player might not play the .MTV file. Also, if you player supports .MTV, then you will need the 3.57 convert tool instead. The 3.68 Convert Tool is to convert to .AMV files. They are different.

2. When you say "I am not able to download videos", do you mean you are unable to download videos from this site or unable to download videos onto your player? What error are you getting?

3. When you say "converted successfully. But when I tried to play back, it showed error", what is the error message you are getting? Are you playing the converted file from your COMPUTER or from your PLAYER? I want to know where the error is.

4. When you say "I downloaded your sample Santana. But when I tried to replay, it showed, windows cannot trace this file". The Santana video is in .MTV format. There isn't an .MTV player included as part of Windows or with the 3.57 Convert Tools install so that's why you are getting this error message. Try to play the .MTV file from your PLAYER instead.

To be honest, don't be too scared of the player. It's not all that bad. All you have to do is get used to the buttons and what they do. Spend some using your player and you'll be alright :D.

Cheers,
Binh
