Default mp4 look like ipod nano questions

Help...Help...Help....,
I just bought an Mp4 player that look like ipod nano. the problems are:

1. i can't display the lyric file. i'll already follow instruction as this site told. but it still don't work.

2. I want to ask about my disk size. in my player ( memory info) it said that my player still have 1923m. but when i plug my player to my computer it said that my player capacity is about 1.70G the question is if my player still has alot of space, why when i add a file ( mp3 file or amv file ), i receive an error massage " invalid parameter". For your information now my player has 35 mp3 files ( incl. 1 lrc file ) and 2 amv files. can u tell how to add more files to my player.

3.In the product specification said that my player can run FM RADIO. but i can't find any radio program in my player. if there any software or upgrade my firmware to run radio program in my player. please tell me.

please Mr.Binh i know your the one who can answer my problems. for your information my pc operating system is windows xp profesional. my player version is ACTS16D_13, 2005/06/01. WS-3.2.16, 2005/07/28.

thank you for your kindness, may God bless u. Bye...Bye
[you]

Hi pieterkwok,

To answer your question:

1. "I can't display the lyric file". Just quickly check to make sure the .lrc (that's an "L" not an "i" btw) is named exactly the same as the mp3 file.
1a. You can try opening the .lrc file in Notepad, then go "File" --> "Save As" and in the "Encoding" section at the bottom, change it to "ANSI" instead. Then try it.
1b. I know once I couldn't get the .lrc file to play on one of my players and it turns out, it was because the bitrate on the Mp3 song itself needed to be 128K. No more, no less. You can try that too.

If those don't work, then upload the mp3 song along with the .lrc file zipped up into this site and I'll take a look at it.

2. "invalid parameter" error message is normally due to insufficient disk space on your player OR, the player has been 'hacked' to show more disk space then it actually has in memory. Try deleting some files out and see if you can upload the new files then. If that's the case, then it might be someone's ripped you off. I think that's why a few people who, after formatting their players, memory size is much smaller.

3. As far as I know, if it has FM radio, it should have it. What you can do is use the S1fwx - Firmware extractor to extract your firmware. Then repair it then use the s1 Firmware modifier to modify your firmware. Using Firmware Modifier, there is an option to enable "FM Radio", but generally this is automatically enabled anyway. Remember to always BACKUP your existing firmware before modifying it and uploading it back on your player.

Hope this helps you out.

Let me know how you get on.

Thanks,
Binh

part 2

and WHOAALA.....magic all the 100 mp3 files is loaded in the mp4 player. so....at that moment i pleased about the new one, then i go back to my country. on the way back ( on the airplane ) i not 100% sure about my mp4 memory sizes. so.... i connect the new ipod to my laptop n copying about 200 mp3 files. all the files is succsesfully copied to my new mp4. after that i am talking to my self " this is the one.....!"
after i arrived at my home i played my mp4 player but DARN...! my mp4 player cannot play the last 200 files. so...i check the memory sizes with mp3 utilities program that i downloaded from your web.
and the result is my memory are 223mb. oh..man i got tricked again......

the conclusion is the chinesses is more clever than we are the buyer.hahhahaha i feel upset but also feel amaze about what they do for trick us.....

To backup the firmware on your player, have a look at this Knowledge Base article: "How to: extract firmware of your player using the S1fwx tool" from here.

Good luck with it.

pieterkwok,

I think 4 Gigs is quite expensive for them. So for them to replace your player with a 4Gb player will probably cost them a lot more money so I would imagine yes, they probably cheated you again with it . Sorry to hear about that but thank you for sharing it and I hope that everyone reading it will take note of it. It's unfort I had to happen to you though .
