Re: amv convert tool
Hi nerdboia,
Can you check to make sure you have the required DirectX and Windows Media Player versions please? DirectX should be at least ver 9.0, same as Windows Media Player. If you need to download them, you can from our site: DirectX 9.0c download here. Windows Media Player 10 download here Let me know if that helps your problem or whether you are still getting the same problem. Thanks, Binh |
hi nerdboia
we sovled you problem about tha through video converter. kindly download xilisoft Video Converter at www.xilisoft.com. registration key is DF42-060B-072B-2621-E909-564D-4EE8-E607. 1. launch xilisoft video converter the change profile into microsoft wmv format(*.wmv) add video files you want to convert then press encode. 2. Hi ylebroondres,
Thanks for your post. It seems to em that nerdboia is having a problem installing the software rather than converting it? Is that right nerdboia? Personally, I think if you start converting software into another format then convert it to AMV, you might loose the video quality. Have you found that ylebroondres? Maybe I'm wrong? Thanks, Binh |
Hi Binh
For my observation nothing change of video guality. I encountered for other format like mpeg to 3gp format. ylebroonders, |

Re: amv convert tool
Same problem here, unable to install neither version 357 nor 368. My system is Win2000 Pro SP4, Windows Medias Player 9.0, DirectX 9.0d. No crashes, but when clicking setup.exe, it shows the hourglas for a while, then goes back to standard pointer, nothing happens.
I was able to install the AMV converter on a Win XP machine with no problem. regards, Michal. |
Hi msz,
Try this: http://www.mympxplayer.com/viewtopic.php?t=54 Follow the suggestions and see if that fixes the problem. |
Re: amv convert tool
Thanks for the hints. Unfortunately, none of them has worked. I tried cleaning Local Settings/Temp dir, running Setup.exe from different location, creating a new user. It always ends the same way: a hourglass pointer appears, there is a window opening for a fraction of second and immediately closing (so just the outline of the window can be seen, no content).
I will survive without it, At home I use XP machine which has no problem. regards, Michal. |
Hi msz,
Well, that's interesting to note. I run Win2K and it installs fine, no problems. Earlier issues with installations freezing on WinXP machines was solved by creating an new user account with full admin rights and install the convert tool under that new user account. Are you install the MTV Convert tool from mympxplayer.com site? |

forkart,
Have you tried it yourself? Does the MP4 video converter you mention covert files to .AMV files? As you know, most of the MPx players here play .AMV or .MTV or both but doesn't actually play .MP4 or .AVI files. |

msz,
Ok, so when you try creating a new user account with admin rights on your computer and try to install it, does it install ok? |
