I have now tried all three different programs and renamed the .BIN files in all three programs and I still get 'No Tele File' error message. The different names I used were:

telbook.bin
telesave.bin
tel_save.bin
telsave.bin

I can get this to work on one of my players (it's not a VL-547). Has anyone got this to work on a VL-547 yet? Or for that matter a Visual Land player at all?

I just received an email from Visual Land stating:

Hi,

Unfortunately the telephone function does not work with the player.

ytsejam,

Do you have "Telbook" or "phone book" item in your main menu?

I do in SOME of my players but not all. The one I do have the Telbook or phone book item in the main menu, I can import a telbook file.

Check, if you do have it from ur main menu, then definately, you should be able to do this.

Yes I have the Tel Book option. When I click on it, I get options for:

Browse
Import
Export
Exit

If you have the Tel Book option from your main menu, then YES, you should be able to import a binary telbook file into your player.

It's strange to have the item available on your player, but you can't do anything with it don't you think?

I think Visual Land is just lazy and don't want to help you.

What I'll do later is upload my .bin telbook file on the site and see if you can use that on your player and see if it works.

Have you had the chance to upload your telbook.bin file yet?

Default My telebook.bin file

Hi

I've just uploaded my Telebook file here: http://www.mympxplayer.com/dload.php...le&file_id=108.

This is the telesave.bin file that was exported from my player (as my player had a generic telbook entry when I got it). Hopefully this might work for you. Let me konw if it does or not.

I'll see if I can get some other ones from my other players for you if it doesn't work.

I tried this option in my player ( 1.5” screen ACT 3.5.35 ) and it would not import any bin file as well. It has the one Chinese police number and I hit export and it didn’t seem to make any file. I was hoping it would create a file I could examine…

I did put some phone numbers in my player but I just used the text reader function. Text looks terrible, no word wrapping or anything. But I figured out how to format a txt file to look decent. The player displays 16 characters by 8 rows and ENTER (line returns) just show as spaces. If you make a text file and be careful to have exactly 15 characters before each return you can make a decent looking phone listing file.

relaxxx,

Try these sample telbook files from here to see if it works:

http://www.mympxplayer.com/dload.php...gory&cat_id=28

Also try renaming your files as either: TELESAVE.bin or TelBook.bin
